Peter T. Edge

Peter Edge is currently the CEO, co-founder and managing member of Controlled Strategies a consulting company and previously worked as the vice president of corporate security/Chief Security Officer at Conduent, a global company that provides back-end business support to Fortune 500 companies. Conduent consists of 68,000 personnel worldwide. Prior to working at Conduent Mr. Edge worked at SOSI, a government contracting company that provided support in both the defense and civilian realms. Mr. Edge is a proven and respected leader in the international law enforcement community and a globally recognized subject matter expert on homeland security, specifically border security, to include financial crimes, customs violations, intellectual property theft, immigration fraud, immigration enforcement and human trafficking.

Previously a member of the U.S. Government’s Senior Executive Service with over 32 years of federal and state law enforcement experience in criminal investigations and border security, including extensive leadership and managerial skills developed by leading large organizations at the local, national, and international levels. Results-driven manager responsible for establishing a performance-based culture through clear, measurable, and meaningful goals.

Mr. Edge ended his career in federal law enforcement by serving as the acting Deputy Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Deputy Director is the Chief Operating Officer for more than 20,000 law enforcement and support personnel assigned to more than 400 domestic and international offices. Responsible for a budget of over $7 billion and facilities worldwide.

Mr. Edge’s permanent assignment was serving as the director and chief executive of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the second-largest criminal investigative component in the United States and the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). HSI is the key U.S. law enforcement agency responsible for disrupting and dismantling transnational criminal organizations engaged in cross-border criminal activities that seek to exploit America’s legitimate travel, trade, financial, visa, immigration, and border security systems.

As HSI’s lead executive, he was responsible for all investigative and intelligence activity of over 10,000 employees (to include nearly 44 members of the Senior Executive Service), who were assigned to more than 250 facilities around the world, including 67 international locations in 50 countries.

Joel m. ferdinand*

Joel is a co-Founder and Managing Member of Controlled Strategies. Trained as a business trial lawyer, Joel has advised large companies, SMEs, business executives, and corporate boards of directors in court and in the board room concerning sophisticated business disputes.  Joel has an established track record in risk management, risk mitigation, and crisis management. He began his career in the Litigation Department of Fox Rothchild, LLP, served as the General Counsel and Senior Vice President of a national private equity-backed company, and is currently co-Chairman and Global General Counsel of a large, international law firm.

A. Michael Pierson*

Michael is a co-Founder and Managing Member of Controlled Strategies. He has advised private investment funds, broker-dealers, and investment management clients, from some of the largest and most prominent market participants to firms engaged in specialized aspects of the securities and digital asset markets. Michael began his career at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, was a member of the Investment Management Practice at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, served as assistant general counsel to Goldman, Sachs & Co., and has served as counsel to Silver Lake Partners and to Barclays. He is currently co-Chairman of a large, international law firm based in New York and London.
